What is cognitive behavioral therapy?

When you or a loved one is struggling, it may feel like the weight of the world is on your shoulders. It can affect the whole family, your work, your relationships, school/education and everyday tasks and functioning. However, it’s important to understand that you don’t have to live in suffering.

Cognitive behavioral therapy, simply put, is a type of psychotherapy that aims to change behavior or thinking patterns in order to treat a wide variety of difficulties and disorders. The thought behind cognitive behavioral therapy is that by changing one’s thoughts, changes in behavior and attitude will soon follow.
