Tentative Re-Opening Information 6/1/20
We hope you are staying healthy and safe during this crisis.
We wanted to update you on our company’s transition to re-open our offices.
CBT Counseling Centers and our patients have had tremendous success in our telehealth sessions, however, we realize that some patients may need to conduct their sessions in person for the best form of care, or their insurance may be ending telehealth coverage soon. Consequently, we are offering a soft-opening of our offices effective June 1, 2020.
If you are happy with your telehealth sessions, and your insurance will still cover them
(or if you are paying out of pocket), please continue using telehealth as long as possible. If you feel you need to be seen in person, or your telehealth coverage is ending, please contact our office to schedule an in-person session after June 1st.
BCBS has extended telehealth coverage to July 31st.
If you do choose to come to our offices for in-person sessions, these are the precautions we are requiring for both our staff and our client safety:
- You must take your temperature before each visit. If you have a temperature higher than 99.5, please reschedule. If you are experiencing any symptoms, or have had contact with anyone who has, please reschedule.
- You must wait in your car or outside our office until we call you in for your appointment.
- You must wear a face mask at all times.
- You must keep social distance and abide by the distancing measures that we’ve set in place.
- You must use hand sanitizer and wash your hands as appropriate after touching any surface.
- Please do not bring food or drink to your appointment, as well as any unnecessary guests.
- Staff will sanitize all surfaces between each appointment.
As this situation continues to evolve, we will update our precautionary measures as necessary.

We are carefully watching the changing news from government and health officials regarding COVID-19 and will continue to update and support you while ensuring your health and safety remain our first priority. For information on the coronavirus, please visit the Center for Disease Control.
In light of current CDC precautions, CBT Counseling Centers is happy to offer teletherapy services as an alternate to in-person sessions.
CBT Counseling Centers uses Doxy.Me as our preferred teletherapy method. If you are interested in switching your session to Doxy, please call our office at (828) 350-1177. Your therapist will schedule your appointment through Doxy, and you will receive a Welcome/Sign Up link to your email.

We Are Practicing Social Distancing!
We encourage people to follow the CDC’s (https://www.cdc.gov/coronavirus/2019-ncov/community/election-polling-locations.html) and WHO’s recommendations. If you have concerns about your physical health and safety please consult with your physician to figure out best options for yourself and your family.
If you are noticing high levels of depression and/or anxiety or rumination (circular thinking you can’t turn off) about current events, consider asking for help. Psychotherapy is a way to connect with someone and build on skills to take care of yourself and build a plan to manage symptoms, thoughts, and experiences you are dealing with.
Even with the need to self-quarantine, there may be options for teletherapy. Teletherapy is a way to remotely do psychotherapy. This is accomplished with a HIPPA-complaint and secure video or audio “call” with a therapist. Teletherapy may not be appropriate for all cases and sometimes insurance may not cover it. However during the pandemic many insurances will likely cover it. Check with your therapist to see what options are available.
