Jason Anderson, LCSW
Jason is a licensed clinical social worker who has been providing psychotherapy for individuals and families since 2012. He received a master’s degree in social work from California State University in Sacramento in 2005 and relocated to North Carolina in 2010. Jason specializes in Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) and has been trained in Dialectic Behavior Therapy (DBT), Motivational Interviewing, Family Eco Systems and Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT). He has provided these services for individuals and families in outpatient settings, inpatient psychiatric hospitals, intensive therapeutic foster care and in-home family therapy.
Jason’s therapeutic skills and research have focused generally on adults and teens who struggle with substance use, self harm, suicidal ideation as well as those managing intense and distressing emotions. He has provided effective treatment for clients diagnosed with mood disorders (depression, anxiety, bipolar disorder) and personality disorders. His work with children includes assisting families with managing behaviors associated with ADHD, Oppositional Defiance Disorder (ODD) and Disruptive Mood Dysregulation Disorder. Jason has provided therapy for families who are looking for help with communication, understanding and accepting family member roles and identifying family values and goals.
