Kyrie Schmit, MA, LPCA
….specializes in evidence-based practice which involves the delivery of scientifically-supported treatments, such as Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT) and Cognitive-Behavioral Therapy (CBT), to help clients of all ages with a broad range of clinical concerns.
Kyrie is particularly passionate about working with children/adolescents, including those who have been diagnosed with Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD), Attention Deficit Hyperactivity Disorder (ADHD), and Anxiety Disorders.
Kyrie earned a Bachelor of Science in Psychology with a Spanish Studies minor at Santa Clara University. Subsequently, she completed a Master of Arts in Clinical Mental Health Counseling at Lenoir-Rhyne University. She is a Licensed Professional Counselor Associate, a Certified Clinical Mental Health Counselor (CCMHC), and a Registered Behavior Technician (RBT) with the Behavior Analyst Certification Board (BACB).
Prior to pursuing graduate work in mental health counseling Kyrie worked in a variety of child/adolescent settings, including working for four years as a behavior technician for families receiving Applied Behavior Analysis (ABA), working as a preschool teacher, and working as a mentor at a residential treatment center for adolescent girls. During this time, she honed her approach to working with each developmental stage of childhood, in addition to being familiar with each stages’ particular needs.
