Shannon Sypert, MSW, LCSW
Shannon received her Bachelor of Social Work from Jacksonville State University in 2002 and her Master of Social Work from Florida State University in 2006. She is licensed as a Clinical Social Worker in both Wyoming and North Carolina. Her post graduate experience has involved working in both medical social work as well as mental health and substance abuse treatment. She has provided social work services to hospice and dialysis patients and their families. She has also worked in adolescent residential treatment, community mental health, and in-home therapy services. During her career she has worked with clients of all ages.
Her professional interests include treatment and study of trauma, Serious Emotional Disturbance and Severe Persistent Mental Illness as well as suicide prevention. In treating clients, she utilizes Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, Dialectical Behavior Therapy, Experiential Therapy, and Motivational Interviewing. She has experience working with clients living with mood disorders, psychotic disorders, substance use disorders, dual diagnoses, personality disorders, Oppositional Defiant Disorder, and Attention Deficit Hyperactivity Disorder. She strongly believes in partnering with clients to identify needs and develop achievable goals that lead positive outcomes.
